There is a game that was released on the PS2 titled Final Fantasy X, it being the tenth installment of the mind-bogglingly popular series. In this game, there existed a sort of boogeyman called Sin who was a demonic death whale that would return to life after his various defeats to ravage the world the game was set in. This cycle of Sin tormenting the world would take place every ten years.
One of the theories in Robert's Core Theory was that these Constructs do not stay dead forever and that Der Ritter, the boogeyman of Germany, though defeated once before, will eventually return. Well, since slimjim and Der Ritter are both boogeymen, then it stands to reason that we will eventually kill Him. I'm going to set my eyes on Germany and watch out for any unusually activity like children disappearing near the Black Forest, and will continue to do so until I am either dead or it happens. If there are any German bloggers involved, please tell me of any odd News that you know of that involves happenings at the Black Forest. If we can prove that Der Ritter can and will return, then we will whether or not slim will.
So what's my point? Well, in Final Fantasy X, they eventually decide to take drastic measures and End Sin's cycle of death and rebirth once and for all. They succeed. At a very steep price. If there is a Cycle like Robert proposed, then we need to End it and we frankly can't be bothered to care what we will personally have to pay, because we are dealing with primal and supernatural forces here. You don't get off scot free while messing with them. Any fool can tell you that much. I supposed I could make a fruity speech about how we'd be doing it for future generations, but we also need to be committed to do this for ourselves. Because...supposed he returns before any of us pass of old age, and returns when we are old. Yeah...I don't think any of us would be in any condition to Run or Fight Him. We would be The Ones Who Lived. We would be too good to pass up even if we couldn't provide Him with the thrill of the hunt anymore.
Something Others and Myself Have Noticed:
Why does slim seem to exclusively target children and 20-something young adults? Simple. We're young, we're vital, we have prospects, ambition, strong wills, promise, and too stupid to know when to quit. In other words: entertainment for however long he wants or needs of us. Shaun, who is 18, could Run for many years to come and give slim one hell of a chase. Not so much a fifty year old man who has been in a cubicle for the last three decades. Yeah, you'll notice he never targets the Dilbert types. Its always the youngsters who have futures to worry about and will resist Him to keep them.
Ah, you have made a few fatal assumptions.
ReplyDeleteWe're not so sure about the Core Theory, especially after... well, about what happened to Robert(Guardian). (Still can't write his name without putting the title after it, it feels wrong somehow. Disrespectful.)
Slim Jim doesn't exclusively target the groups you mentioned. It's just these groups who tend to put up a fight, and end up hearing about. He abducts children more often than you'd think.
well, this generation is also the first that is fully online. Thus the first truly exposed to him through mass communication. It's not like text messages are going to do the job, it's the story, the video that does it.
ReplyDeletei'd say it's more like 'The Ring', than FFX

ReplyDeleteWait, I thought Nessa was dead?
ReplyDelete...We have the same profile number.
ReplyDeleteOkay, whoever's trying to mess with my account, please stop now. That isn't funny.
Time to get a new Blogger account...
O.o
ReplyDeleteuhm...what the hell?
Alright, joke's over. I hate getting hacked. Shiny new password, new account, we'll see how long it'll last this time.
ReplyDeleteZero, you said you killed her right?
Naw, nevermind, I bet it's just one of those troll Proxies trying to freak us out again.
so not wanting to talk about that still
ReplyDeleteI know we're not sure of the Core Theory. That's why I kept saying 'if', and why I'm going to keep an eye on the Black Forest of Germany by any means I currently have at my disposal and am going to keep researching happenings at said forest that have already come to pass. If the Core Theory doesn't pan out, or if Der Ritter just hasn't returned yet, I'll try another angle.
ReplyDeleteI know He kidnaps lots of kids, but people in their twenties seem to be his top pick. Like I said, I interpret him as a bully, which is why I think he wants vital prey to give Him a chase.
Ah, sorry Zero.
ReplyDeleteRon, it might just be that the twenty-year-olds are useful for being turned into Proxies. But then, who knows if he's even ordering them around.
And there are plenty of fakes on the blogosphere. Slender Man is something of a hot commodity these days among teens. I suppose it's fashionable now to pretend you're being stalked. Idiot kids.
then I'm the frickin Calvin Klein of being stalked.
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't mean that you're one of the fakes. That'd be dead depressing.

ReplyDeleteI may be offline for a while. Some people I know saw ol' stick are meeting up and heading towards Main Street. I'm going to check this out.
ReplyDeleteLuck.
ReplyDeleteWe're also the age group that went on somethingawful and all that shit the most. Keep in mind, Zeke is almost 30 and he went after him, so it could just be anybody who find out and believes enough in him.
ReplyDelete- M
I won't deny he does go after older people. In fact, I didn't. I'm just saying that the more vital the prey, the better.
ReplyDeleteWell, a ton of people went into the City Hall. I recognized a lot of people I saw look directly at slim with various reactions anywhere from fear to hate or both. I don't like where this is going. They've been in there a long time.
ReplyDeleteuhm...remind me not to go to New England then if they saw a monster there and didn't show overt emotions.
ReplyDeleteDude, i think you might be hallucinating. Seriously. I'd hate to think this is real.
Also, I'm in the same age group as Zeke.
Zero, you're accusing him of hallucinating after what you saw yesterday? Really?
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't mean to call you a hypocrite, I mean, anything is possible. Anyone could be hallucinating, I guess. Happened to the best of us, hasn't it?
Please do tell us how this turns out, Ron. Maybe you've stumbled upon a resistance group (at best) or some agents at worst.
I would tell you to go in there after them if you had more with you, but as you are it would be foolish to suggest it.
Stay safe, man.
This is no hallucination. The people who can see slim are making organized movements of some kind. I think slim has been infecting this place a long time. Oh man, did I pick the wrong town.
ReplyDeleteI need to find out what's going on here.
No. Get out of there. Get out now.
ReplyDeleteSorry to double post again, but it of makes sense that perhaps slim has been here a while. After all, New England is mostly made of the Thirteen original colonies that this nation started out as thus is the oldest part of this country along with a few Southern states. This would be the first place He would ever have been able to do damage here. As H(a)unting has shown that he's been here predating the somethingawful forum.
ReplyDeleteHmm? Got out?
ReplyDeleteDon't go trying to rustle up intelligence, all right? Your primary concern is your own safety at this point.
ReplyDeleteGo west.
...I'll check when the next train is leaving to where. This time, I'm going to withhold posting where I'm going and see if that gets me a quieter trip this time.
ReplyDeleteGood idea. Stay safe. Have a nice trip.
ReplyDeleteThanks. On my way to the station now.
ReplyDelete@N - First, sorry, didn't see your response after Ron's newest post. For your answer, yes, yes I can accuse anyone of hallucination. It's something we all need be aware of! I freely admit that what I saw had to be, or at least mostly. I still have a bite mark on my leg, no clue where else it could be from.
